GHOST GIRL
The reason why we chose this characters outfit to include what it does is because her character is quite dark as she is meant to be a ghost who died from a brutal, tragic accident which is why she has deep wounds and dark bruises on her arms.
The dress we are going to put her in is similar to this however the fabric on the dress that we are going to use is a more lacy material. This adds to the effect of a more ghostly character as the dress has a look of a more vintage style which makes it seem as though this particular character has been dead for a while.
The reason why we left this characters feet bare is because this could give the character a back story of being lost or confused. this also add a childish element to the character as children are generally seen to be bare footed. This also adds to the ghostly effect of the character as to makes the character seem cold and corpse like by not being fully dressed.
We have chosen the hair for this character to be dark and messy. This is because this could link to the way she died, showing that she struggled. however, this could also link to her life even before she died, showing that it was not a life of privilege but rather one o0f poverty which adds to the distress of the character and in turn the distress of the narrative and atmosphere.
The reason why this character is the main feature of our opening sequence is because our male protagonist character does not connote a horror film as he is a very stereotypical young adult male of the modern time. This would've ruined the effect that we are trying to give the audience of a horrific, eerie atmosphere so the ghostly girl was a more suited character for this opening.
If we were to continue the film past the opening 2 minutes then the male protagonists costume would consist of jeans, a T-shirt, a jacket or coat and a pain of trainers/converse shoes. This is because the male character is just a stereotypical British male who falls into a troubled spot so his costume should be very simple.
